American Labrador

The American Labrador has bewildered fowl hunter’s for decades. In 1917 they became officially recognized by the American Kennel Club. With their webbed feet, waterproof coat, and overwhelming love for retrieving in the water, America had finally found the perfect water fowling companion.  Ducks, geese, pheasant, quail, and many other birds have all played a major role in the development of the American Labrador’s instincts. Driven by the thrill of the hunt, Labradors have proven themselves as the most elite and suitable for retrieving almost any species of bird.

If properly socialized early on, the American Labrador puppies can expeditiously adapt to any situation. If not, the Labrador puppy can regrettably develop behavioral issues that are sometimes impossible to correct, even through vigorous professional training. Therefore, properly socializing this particular breed remains key for future hunting expectations.  While the Labrador retriever’s heart remains in the field, many hunting Labs display a very gentle and docile personality around families and children. This characteristic has won the Labrador a consecutive twenty-two year streak for America’s most popular dog breed.  Due to their outstanding hunting and retrieving characteristics, along with their easygoing personality, the Labrador retriever makes for the perfect working dog and family friend.

At DuckDogBreeder.com, we specialize is breeding only the highest quality American Labrador puppies. We know what it takes to produce champion hunting dogs and we create an atmosphere where great blood lines can be extended for generations.
